The Venture section of the Kilsheelan Scout group presented a cheque to Carrick-on-Suir River Rescue members on Friday. Five members of the River Rescue team travelled to the Kilsheelan scout hall for the event.
The funds raised were the proceeds of a Car Treasure Hunt held in January, organised by the Venture group and sponsored by Merck Sharp and Domhe (Ire) Ltd.

A large attendance of the Kilsheelan Scout Group was present as River Rescue members thanked the group and explained that all their resources came from voluntary contributions.

They took time to talk to the young scout group and their leaders, outlining the nature of their voluntary work, the equipment used, the cost of maintaining and upgrading it and how their team, of 15 members was always and would remain committed to continue offering this service to the public..
