EMLY TENNIS CLUB

Adult Tournament is now underway and all participating are asked to ensure that they play their games as scheduled. Some excellent tennis is being played and is very enjoyable to watch. All invited to come along. Children’s Tennis Tournament Under 12′s commencing next Friday night, May 25, at 7p.m.

Membership is now due. It can be paid to Stephen McInerney, Michael Kemp or Caroline O’Brien.

BOOTCAMP

A Bootcamp is commencing in Emly next Tuesday night, May 22 at 7.30p.m. It will take place in the field beside the Tennis Club. All are welcome

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

The children of the parish will receive their first holy communion at 11am Mass on next Sunday. We pray for them and their families.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

To mark the month of the Eucharistic Congress four hours of private Eucharistic Adoration will take place on each Saturday in June from 3pm to 7pm. Parishioners are invited to volunteer to spend an hour, or part of an hour, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament on these days. Volunteers are asked to sign their names on the special forms in the church in an effort to ensure that somebody will always be present in the church.

U.12B Football Semi Final : Emly 3-0 Rosegreen 3-6

We must congratulate the following very young players who put up a great battle against a very strong Rosegreen team: Ben Murphy, Ben Farrelly, Olivia Sheehy, Veda Hennessey, Kate O’ Heney, Colin Murphy, Nathan Carroll. Not available on the day, but who have been involved in other matches to date on this squad; Ann-Marie Murphy, Erin Smith, James Cunningham, Jamie Carroll. Thanks to Mike Murhpy, Brian Carroll and Paul Murphy who have put a lot of work in with these young players and to all the parents who travelled and helped out in any other way.

U.12A Football: Plate Semi- Final Emly 3-3 Rosegreen 0-11

U.14 Football : Emly received a walkover against Kickhams in Dundrum last Thursday night and wishing them well in their forthcoming final.

U.16B Football : Emly Treacys 6-7 Rockwell Rovers 0-6. Congratulations to this team who are now the West Champions.

Congratulations to Emly National School Boys Hurling Team who won their Divisional Final last Tuesday in Knocklong when they overcame Effin on a scoreline of 3-7 to 3-1 and took back the Cup to Emly School to join the second Cup won by the Girls Football Team.

Fixture: U.12A Football Plate Final: Emly v Eire Og on Thursday night, May 24, in Sologhead at 7pm.

SOCCER

Congratulations to Andrew Vance, Paul O’Heney and Conor Phipps who played in the U.14 National Cup All-Ireland Final last Sunday in Dublin. These boys, who are part of the U.14 Herbertstown Team, were delighted to bring home three silver medals. They were up against a very strong talented Templeogue squad but all three played extremely well and are very proud of their achievements. Four bus loads of supporters travelled from Herbertstown and Emly supporters filled one bus. Thanks to all who travelled and for all the good wishes, cards and text messages.
