SEAN TREACY’S JUVENILE NOTES

We came away from the county final of Scorn a bPaisti with two titles. Winners of both figure dancing and instrumental music. Our novelty act and set dancers gave great performances also. The figure dancers are: James Rochford, Paul Nolan Conor Nolan, Brian Nolan, Gabriel Stead, Laura Deegan, Aoife Nolan and Lauren Mulligan. The Instrumental Music group are: Gillian Lyons, Aoife Nolan Conor Nolan, Paul Nolan and James Rochford.

Training:

Training has re-started for our underage teams. The U-14 footballers are due in action on February 25. While football blitzes for U-8 and 10 are scheduled for the end of the month also. So we need to see more numbers at the training sessions. Times and dates will be sent by teamer text. Please reply to the text advising of your attendance.

Membership:

Membership is now being collected. Fees this year remain unchanged at €E5 per child or family membership for €E20. All players must be fully registered before they represent the club.

SEAN TREACY’S GAA NOTES

AGM: At the recently held AGM the following officers were elected - Chairman Michael Hanly, Vice Chairman Willie O’Dwyer and Billy O Toole, Secretary Pat Carr, Assistant Secretary Seamus Costello, Treasure Pat Hickey, PRO Tom Ryan, County Board draw Co-ordinator John McCormack, Registrar Liam Nolan, Development office Ollie Carr, County Board Rep Pat Stapleton, West Board Rep Mike Hanly.

After 14 years of service Pat Stapleton has stepped down as chairman, the club wish to thank Pat for his years of service, the progress of the club both on and off the field is a testament to Pats dedication and skill.

This was the clubs 50th Convention and we will be celebrating 50 years as a club in 2012. We will be holding various events throughout the year to mark this special milestone in our clubs history.

Sympathy: Sean Treacys wish to offer their sympathy to the Kennedy Family, Rearcross, on the passing of Dan Kennedy. Dan served with great distinction as club chairman from 1962 to 1968. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam. Dan was the first chairman of the club and one of the founding members.

U21 Training:

Training has commenced for U21 hurling and football, all are requested to attend with a view to championship preparation. Panel members will continue to be notified by text.
