BALLYGIBLIN HURLERS BEATEN

Ballygiblin Premier Junior hurlers lost out to Ballyhooly in Glanworth on Sunday in the Hibernian Hotel JHC. The game finished level at full time. Extra time prevailed and it was Ballyhooly who recorded a close 3 -15 to 1- 19. KILBEHENNY TRACTOR AND HONDA 50 RUN

Kilbehenny Community Centre will hold a fundraising Tractor and Honda 50 Run on Sunday, May 27, in aid of the newly built Community Centre. Registration will commence at 10.30am with entry priced at E20 per vehicle. The drive will get under way at 12 noon sharp and refreshments will be served on return to the Community Centre.

THE LATE WILLIAM CONDON

The death occurred unexpectedly on May 16 at his residence Stagpark, Mitchelstown of William Condon, The late William a retired farmer, was a very well known member of the local community. In his late 50s he was a deeply religious man and a man of great knowledge on many subjects. His popularity was borne out in the large and represented attendance at the removal on Saturday evening from O’Brien’s Funeral Home to the Parish Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Sunday. Interment took place to Brigown New Cemetery. To his wife Rita, sons Richard, John daughters Teresa, Anne, brother Bernard, sister Mary, daughter in law Candice, grandchildren Reece, and Ariana, nephew Brian, niece Miriam, brother in law, sister in law, relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

PROCESSION

The annual Corpus Christi Procession will take place in Mitchelstown on Sunday, June 10, after the 12 midday Mass. The route will include New Square, George’s St. Baldwin St. Lower Cork St. and finish with benediction.

P.T.A.A MASS

Mitchelstown Branch PTAA will hold their annual Mass on Friday, June 29, in the town hall 7.30pm Presentation of Golden, Silver Jubilarian badges, Fr Cullen medal, 40 year, 60 year and 70 year diplomas will take place. If you think you are eligible contact and local Pioneer Council member as soon as possible.
