UNDER 21: We played Carrick Swan in 1st round in Championship on Bank Holiday Monday in Clonmel. This was a very good game of hurling with both teams seeking to win. The half time score saw us ahead by 2 points on score of 1.5 to 6 points. We began the second half well with a goal but the Swan’s rallied to lead by 1 point nearing the end of match. Billy Hewitt levelled the game with a point and the game ended in a draw on the final score of 2.11 to 1.14. Our next match was in Monroe last Saturday against Mullinahone. Conditions were wet and windy on that day. We began well in this match with wind assistance and Tom Kirwan scored a vital first half goal to keep us in front at half time. Mullinahone came at us strong at start of second half hitting a goal and a point to take lead. Points from Billy Hewitt kept us in game at this stage. Daniel O’Regan won possession from a puck out and ran at Mullinahone defence before passing to Christopher Lambert who scored our second goal and we were back in game. We defended well in last few minutes to with stand pressure from Mullinahone and we went on to win in end by 2 points in final score of 2.11 to 1.12. We are now in semi final of this Championship.
