Irish soccer legend accompanies wife Gillian for training session

Celebrity Bainisteoir beauty Gillian Quinn was back in Ballyporeen recently for her second training session with the members of Ballyporeen GAA Club. With a bit of bad news, she informed the team that they were the unsuccessful side in the recent swim-off against members of the Kileshin team, which took place in the Aquatic Centre in Dublin recently. Four Ballyporeen team mates Dave Hyland, Pat Cole, Simon Hickey and Glen Walsh competed well against their Kileshin counterparts to decide whether their first match would be a home or away game. Despite their efforts, the Kileshin lads pipped them at the post so Ballyporeen will be the travelling side when the date is confirmed for their first challenge.
However the bad news was cushioned by a surprise visit by Gillian’s husband, former Republic of Ireland ace and current Sunderland FC chairperson Niall Quinn who accompanied his wife and gave the team a few words of support.
Gillian, a fitness instructor, has adapted well to GAA coaching since her appointment and she took the second training session unaided. Details of the match time and date have yet to be announced and the next training session is scheduled for early August. Fundraising for the occasion is ongoing and all support will be greatly acknowledged and appreciated. Good luck Ballyporeen GAA.
