Guest speaker John Waters, Author and Journalist with John O'Driscoll, Ballinura on April 4th following the 5th and final 'festival of faith' Lenten reflections held in St. Nicholas Church Carrick-on-Suir on Wednesday evenings leading up to Easter.

Well known journalist John Waters was the guest speaker at the 5th “Celebration of Faith” evening in St. Nicholas Church last week.

Mr Waters gave an inspiring and honest account of his personal journey of faith from loss to return and the impact of this on his spiritual life journey.

He was delighted to be invited to join in the Lenten “Celebration of Faith” evening last Wednesday, April 4 and enjoyed meeting everyone later for light refreshments.

Lenten reflections were held on five Wednesday evenings in St. Nicholas Church in the lead up to Easter and guest speakers for each of the celebration of faith themed evenings included, pastoral worker Aoife McGrath, who spoke on Loving Relationships; Dean Maria Jansson, Waterford, who talked about Hope; the Youth of the Parish reflected on the theme of Vision of Faith, and Fr. Michael Mullins, who spoke about Reconciliation.

Fr Edmund Cullinan PP and the Parish Pastoral Council members organised the evenings during Lent. The celebrations were enriched by hymns beautifully sung by the Suir Valley Choir.
