Cashel - a vibrant town

Have you stopped off in Cashel lately? Well if it’s good enough for Queen Elizabeth II to drop in on her tour of Ireland, then why don’t you take some time to visit the local sights, have a leisurely stroll through the pretty town, take your time to peruse the many shops selling wonderful local crafts, produce, the best in fashion and footwear, and maybe even find a bargain before relaxing over a tasty snack, lunch or dinner in one of the many pubs and restaurants that are among the best in the county.

Vita Cortex workers take protest to Clonmel for third time

Twenty of the 32 Vita Cortex workers who have been staging a sit-in at the former foam plant in Cork over redundancy payments, took their long-standing protest to the Poppyfield Retail Park in Clonmel last week. This was the third venue in South Tipperary connected to Vita Cortex company owner Jack Ronan, that the workers have hit.

Local companies show welcome rise in export trade

International trade figures released by Clonmel Chamber of Commerce show a sizeable increase in exports by local companies in 2011. The jump of 32% follows a significant rise in exports in 2010.

More than 50 homes in Tipperary found with high levels of cancer-causing radon gas

More than ten per cent of Tipperary homes recently tested for radon were found to have high levels of the cancer-causing gas according to figures released by the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII).
