A local company has donated an integral piece of lifesaving equipment to the Cahir unit of the Red Cross.
On September 20 last, MSD Ireland (Ballydine), a subsidiary of the Global Pharmaceutical Company Merck & Co. made a presentation of a Philips Powerheart G3 Defibrillator (AED) to Cahir Red Cross.
Steven Moloney, Cahir Red Cross Unit Officer thanked MSD Ireland for their very generous gift and their continued support to Irish Red Cross Units in Co. Tipperary.
The recently re-established Cahir Unit is currently in the process of stocking it’s ambulance to the national standard and the donation of this valuable life-saving piece of equipment will go a long way towards that goal.
At the presentation were Niamh Scully, who is the Occupational Health Nurse at MSD, Steven Moloney, Unit Officer of Cahir Red Cross, HR Director MSD Kieran Dunne and Fergus Kelly, Acting Area Director of Units Co. Tipperary, Irish Red Cross.
