National Fire Safety Week

During this week, National Fire Safety Week (October 1s to October 8) an appeal has been issued by the National Safety Authority for everyone to buy and install smoke alarms.

We are at that time of the year when we are lighting our fires once again, so smoke alarms are essential. If you already have smoke alarms installed, please don’t delay, check your batteries today. It is also vital that you and your family know exactly what to do if the smoke alarm activates. Ensure all passageways are free from obstructions, so as not to impede your exit in the event of a fire. Have an escape plan, teach it to your family and practice it regularly. Don’t postpone it until it is too late - It could save your life one day! You can’t be too prepared for a fire!

Play your part during National Fire Safety Week. Check out the rest of the website on National Fire Safety Week 2012 and find out how you can help to prevent and detect fires in your home. It could save your life one day.
