Aherlow Winter Walking Festival

The annual Aherlow Winter Walking Festival opens this Friday, Feb 1 at Aherlow House Hotel at 9pm. Come along to choose your walks for the weekend, talk to the Galtee Walking club who will be your guides and enjoy music by local legend Nick McCarthy. Lucky Lotto at Excel

The Tipperary Excel fundraising Lotto draw runs on a weekly basis and plays a huge part in the fund raising efforts for the centre. Any four numbers are selected from 1 to 36. If anybody matches the four numbers selected on the night they wins or share the Jackpot. If there is no winner there will be 3 Lucky Dip prizes for €25 each. The lotto can be played on online via website www.tipperary-excel OR tickets can be purchased at the Excel. Tickets cost €2 each. The draw will take place on Friday, February 1, and has a great pot of €4,300.

The next meeting of St Michael’s Avenue/Marian Terrace Residents Association takes place on Wednesday, February 6 in Knockanrawley Resource Centre at 8pm. All residents welcome.

Tuesdays with Morrie at Excel

The stage adaptation of the No. 1 international bestseller is directed and produced by Breda Cashe and performed by Terry Byrne as Morrie Schwartz and Andy Murray as Mitch Albom. Tuesdays with Morrie, written for the stage by Mitch Albom and Jeffrey Hatcher, is the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career and Morrie Schwartz his former college professor.

Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie’s appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig’s disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life.

It is a heart-warming exploration of friendship and life.

Tommy Fleming in Concert

For one night only on March 9, 2013, multi-Platinum winning artist Tommy Fleming will perform at the Excel, Tipperary town. Tommy has many times been described as the “Voice of Ireland” and is one of Ireland’s top entertainers.

With a new album on its way, Tommy turns each song into his own unique and powerful style touching emotions in you that only music can reach.

Moll by John B. Keane at Donohill

The theatre play, Moll, by John B Keane will be at the Marian Hall, Tipperary, Saturday February 2 at 8pm.

Cast: Mary O’Dwyer (Donohill) plays Moll Kettle and Dan Kelly (Donohill) plays Canon Pratt. Bob Russell, Aherlow, is Fr Brest. James Bishop of Donaskeigh is the Bishop, Majella Doody (Hollyford) is Bridgie and Philly Ryan (Whip) of Donohill will play Ulick.
