Brothers Mark and Damien Shanahan, from Pouldine, Horse and Jockey, have an exhibition of paintings titled ‘Contrasting Views’ which is running until the end of the month at Cashel Library.

Mark lives and works in Limerick, has a degree in Fine Art Painting from Limerick School of Art and Design and is currently head of the Fine Art department in Colaiste Mhicil CBS and one of the directors of Gallery 75 in Limerick city. Marks work currently moves between traditional landscapes to stylised figuration, semi-abstraction and pure abstraction.

Damien is almost completely self taught, but he did train for a time under noted Limerick artist Roger McCarthy. His lively style brings a fresh energy and emotion to his work which has seen him win several prizes for his art. The exhibition was launched on Saturday, August 18.
