Clonmel mayor launches Junction Festival

Clonmel Junction Festival was officially launched in Raheen House by festival director David Teevan with a large local audience. The festival takes over Clonmel from the 6th-15th July.

At the launch David Teevan said - “The Clonmel Junction Festival has over the last decade established itself as one of the most significant multi-arts festivals of the summer festival season programming a distinctive mix of high quality Irish and International theatre, circus, comedy and music.”

The festival program was officially launched by a special acoustic by local Clonmel singer Paul Walsh and Royseven who will open the festival on Friday, 6th July.

Mayor Daren Ryan launched the program and said “When you think back to 2001, when the Festival hosted just 4 shows and look at how far it has progressed and come along to be able to provide nearly 100 events this year. This does not come without hard work and determination, and on behalf of the people of Clonmel I want to extends my thanks and gratitude to the board and staff of the Clonmel Junction Festival.As Mayor, it gives me great pleasure to officially launch the brochure for Junction 2012.”
