love:live music highlight coming to Clonmel

Musicians from the Royal Irish Academy of Music joined Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, and Moore Street traders in Dublin for an impromptu musical performance on one of Dublin’s most iconic streets to announce the launch of love:live music, Ireland’s National Music Day on June 21. This day-long celebration of Irish music of all genres will see thousands of musicians stage free live music events across the country including The CAN Percussion workshop in Frenchville Lane, Galway and Oiche Ceol agus Craic at the Lackagh Museum & Heritage area among others. love:live music is presented by Music Network in association with RTÉ lyric FM and is funded by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and The Arts Council.

A highlight event taking place as part of love:live music in Tipperary is Clonmel Loves Live Music brought to you by the Clonmel Junction Festival and the Common Thread Café in conjunction with South Tipperary County Arts Office. This is four hours of free music on the streets of Clonmel including an outdoor music trail and a special live collaboration featuring award-winning and critically acclaimed singer Julie Feeney, the extraordinarily talented violinist Cora Venus Lunny, exuberant and innovative harpist Laoise Kelly and the masterfully elegant and fluent guitarist Niwel Tsumbu, and culminating with a classical chamber concert at the County Museum at 8pm.

love:live music coincides with International Music Day on June 21, which is celebrated in 120 countries worldwide. love:live music, Ireland’s National Music Day will see hundreds of unique, fresh and free musical performances across Tipperary and the throughout the country including.

love:live music is funded by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and The Arts Council. Music Network is revenue funded by The Arts Council.
