The U15 footballers notched their first win in the Munster schools championship at Sean Treacy Park, Tipp Town, when they proved too strong for Haydwood College. Playing with a very strong wind in the first half Cashel amassed a good lead thanks to early goals from Paddy Fahy, James Ryan and Jack Burke. In fact, CCS dominated the entire first half in all areas, especially the forwards and midfielders. Ben Blackford in goal brought off several good saves while the six backs held firm. In the second half, however, the Cashel backs were under great pressure but they showed good ability to keep their opponents at bay. Against the wind, Cashel still threatened in attack, with goals coming from Jack Burke and Paddy Fahy. The final whistle saw them ahead 7 – 9 to 0 – 8.

Team: Ben Blackford, Kevin Tobin, Jordan Moore, Ciaran Quinn, Robert Wade, Colm Hayde, Philip Fogarty, Ger Browne, Cian O’Connell, Dylan Gubbins, Nathan Ryan, Jack Burke, James Ryan, Paddy Fahy, Shane Dwan. Subs used: James Walsh, Killian Hayde, Jonathan Wade, Jack Price, Nikki Kearns. Scorers: P. Fahy 4 – 1, J. Burke 2 – 0, James Ryan 1 – 4, Ger Browne 0 – 2, Nathan Ryan, Cian O’Connell, Colm Hayde 0 – 1 each.
