A Clonmel woman says she was “jumping out of her skin with delight” to be featured twice in a new book launched by Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney, the presenters of the television style programme Off The Rails.

Your Best You is aimed at helping Irish women look their best, no matter what their budget. Shannon Forrest from Irishtown is one of the models pictured in the book and she was also honoured to have her shop Kwilla, which she operates in Kilkenny, included among approximately 100 countrywide stores included in its shopping guide.

The book has been described by its authors as Irish women celebrating what they’ve got and dressing to show off their best features.

Shannon’s accessories shop Kwilla is located in Rose Inn Street, Kilkenny.

The book was launched at a reception at Reiss in Dublin, when Shannon was joined by her mother Sheila.

“It’s getting women to make the most of what they have,” says Sonya Lennon.

The celebrity stylist is tired of the ‘plastic fantastic’ look most Irish girls go for. “There’s too much ‘plastification’ going on. I’m not a fan of the Jodie Marsh or Jordan look, I prefer women like Ali Hewson or Amy Huberman.

I’m all about enhancing what you’ve got, not changing it. Irish girls are beautiful enough without gluing in fake hair and painting their bodies a different colour. Celebrate what you’ve got.”
