2012 is European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations so Beehouse Arts in collaboration with Cashel Day Care Centre, proposed a series of “Sun Tilting” workshops to bring participants, staff and volunteers together to help explore the Bealtaine festival theme ‘What kind of old do you want to be’?

Guided by artist Brigid Teehan (www.beehousearts.ie) the groups designed and created a unique collective artwork pictured here. It is made up of individual pieces using mixed media materials on mirror. People from Cashel Day Care Centre refreshed and built upon previous creative skills by using them in an imaginative way. They worked in a groups; communicating/sharing ideas, stories and problem solving together. The final artwork called “Sun Tilting” refers to the seasons turning in a wheel-like fashion.

Thanks to Evelyn Farrell, Manager of the Cashel Day Care Centre and all the volunteer staff, South Tipperary County Council Arts Service, North Tipperary County Council Arts Service and the Tipperary Libraries amongst the supporters of the Bealtaine programme in Tipperary.
