Macra clubs across the country have been commended by AIB for their contribution to the development of Ireland’s rural communities. At Macra county executive meetings, local AIB representatives have been presenting cheques to Macra county executives in recognition of the high level of voluntary participation of members in a variety of activities at club, county and national level.
The AIB representatives also encouraged all those present at the meetings to continue to develop their club’s programme of activities for members and stated that the ‘AIB Club of the Year Competition’, which awards the most dynamic and active clubs in the country, would shortly be open for entries for 2012.
Alan Jagoe, Macra National President, extended his thanks at the meetings to AIB for their continued support of Macra clubs across the country. He said “The AIB club of the year competition recognises excellence in our Macra clubs. The competition gets club members active in planning and executing development strategies for clubs at local level”. He concluded by saying that the commitment shown by AIB to Macra na Feirme has made it possible for the organisation to aid the development of clubs locally.
