Musician and dancer Roy Galvin will host the 6th traditional Irish music Summer School, Éigse Eatharlaí, from July 22 – 24 at Tigh Roy, Ionad Cultúrtha, located in the Glen of Aherlow, Co. Tipperary.
The Summer School will run over three days Friday, Saturday and Sunday with concerts, music session, and workshops in Harp, (Cormac de Barra); Fiddle, (Máire Breatnach); Flute, (Catherine McEvoy); Melodeon, (Johnny Connolly); Concertina, (Michelle Mulcahy) , traditional Sean Nós Dancing (Paul Moran), Tin Whistle (Tríona Ní Shíocháin) and traditional Irish Singing (Caitríona Ní Cheannabháin).
One of the highlights of the weekend will be the concerts, which take place on Friday and Saturday nights. The concerts will feature the cream of Irish traditional music talent including The Mulcahy family, Cormac De Barra, Máire Breatnach, Catherine McEvoy, Johnny Connolly, Paul Moran, Roy Galvin, Caitríona Ní Cheannabháin, Pól Ó Ceannabháin, and Tríona Ní Shíocháin.
Speaking today, Roy Galvin ensured musicians and visitors to Éigse Eatharlaí 2011 a weekend of great music and sean nós singing and dancing as the highlight of the ongoing work of promoting Irish Culture at Tigh Roy, Ionad Cultúrtha.

Enjoy Traditional Clonbeg Pattern This Weekend
The annual Clonbeg Pattern takes place over weekend of July 15 to 17 in the tranquil setting of Clonbeg Church in the Glen of Aherlow, Tipperary
The focus in Clonbeg Church this year for the Pattern is Contemporary Tipperary Crafts, Ealaíonn na gCeird, to celebrate the Year of the Craft. This will be an exhibition of Tipperary’s finest crafts people who work with stone, wood, ceramics and clay. The exhibition will run on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 July from 2 - 6pm each day. Over the weekend tea/coffee and tasty treats of cakes and scones are available outside the Church on Saturday/Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday evening, July 17, the Pattern will conclude with Intercessions at St Sedna’s Holy Well at 7.45pm, followed by the Celebration of Healing Service in Clonbeg Church at 8pm. An open invitation is issued to attend all or any of the events of the Clonbeg Pattern is extended to the public, all events are free of charge.
Clonbeg Pattern continues the old tradition at St Sedna’s Holy Well, and is also a social occasion to meet neighbours & friends and reminisce of people and times past.

Midsummer Variety Concert

Pride in Tipperary Town Photo Exhibition
An exhibition titled ‘Pride in Tipperary Town’ by artist/photographer Caitriona Kenny is now open in the Tipperary Showcase Shop (previously Rafferty’s Travel agents). Celebrating the history, heritage and songs of Tipperary town the exhibition will combine Caitriona’s photographs of key monuments and places, alongside song lyrics and historical information.
