Brewery Lane Theatre’s inaugural Writers’ Weekend on the weekend of April 19 to 21 will feature creative writing workshops with an award winning writer.

Short-story writer, novelist and poet Nuala Ni Chonchuir will host the workshops on Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and 21.

Her fourth short story collection “Mother America” was published by New Island last June.

Winners of the Brewery Lane Theatre’s Poetry Competition will be announced on the opening day of the festival on Friday, April 19.

Poet Mark Roper is judging the competition.

Another highlight of the Writers’ Weekend will be Dr Richard Hayes’ seminar on “Into the New Writing and Change”. Dr Hayes is Head of the School of Humanities at Waterford Institute of Technology.

The seminar will be followed by dinner in The Carraig Hotel.

Entry fee for the Writers’ Weekend is €100, not including dinner, and is limited to 12 people.
