Friday, August 12 is shaping up to be the best Tipp Fm Day ever. Tipp Fm is devoting Tipp Fm day to raising funds for the Children’s Hospital in Crumlin – the hospital where many critically ill children from Tipperary are cared for every year.

Tipp Fm will kick off the event with lots of activities on air including great prizes on offer to the thousands of Tipperary people who donate to this very deserving cause. (So if you make a donation – you have a chance to win one of many great prizes!) Throughout the day, there will be competitions every hour with many great prizes. So, if you make a donation of only 5, you may walk away with a prize many times the value of that. One of the prizes this year is a trip of a life time to India – worth a massive 5,000!

Uniquely this year, Tipp Fm is launching ‘High 5’ whereby Tipperary people can TEXT in their donations. Simply text: CRUMLIN to 57800 and each text will automatically donate 5 to the Crumlin fund. In light of the recession, Tipp Fm decided to make this an affordable donation for everybody. Anybody with a mobile phone will be able to text a donation/(s) of 5 and all mobile phone providers have waived any administration fee which means that the full 5 will go to Crumlin. (For anybody who doesn’t have a mobile phone or doesn’t text a member of their family would gladly do it for them). This special 5 donation text line goes live from Monday August 8 and will remain open until Monday, August 15 – allowing folk plenty of time to make their donations.

There will also be opportunities in the run up to Tipp FM Day to donate at the Tipp FM Outside Broadcasts in Nenagh, Cashel, Roscrea, Thurles and Clonmel – tune in to Tipp fm for details.

This year’s Tipp fm day will also include the launch of the fantastic Clonmel Busking Festival which will have the streets of Clonmel rocking for the entire weekend. All proceeds from this event will also go to the Tipp FM Crumlin appeal.

Commenting on Tipp Fm day, Ethel Power – CEO of Tipp Fm said: “The Tipp Fm team will be driving the ‘High 5’ campaign in an effort to add to the incredible generosity already demonstrated by so many Tipperary people. In the past three years, Tipp Fm listeners have raised a massive amount of almost 150k. This is an incredible achievement for a rural county and everybody in Tipperary should be proud of this amazing result. We know that Tipp Fm listeners will do their best again this year by texting CRUMLIN to 57800 as soon as the special line opens on August 8”

Crumlin Children’s Hospital is committed to providing family centered health care in a compassionate and supportive environment where each child receives the highest standards of health care. Many families in Tipperary have benefited from this wonderful care and Tipp Fm wants to ensure that this continues for years to come.
