STAG adults and juniors work very closely with the County Museum, County Council and with Festival Cluain Meala on a voluntary basis. Well done to 3 Adult STAG Art members , Frances, Lesley and Maureen who completed the Shields late last Sunday night for Festival Cluain Meala which will take place on the 25th and 26th. August. Three months hard work by STAG volunteers has gone into designing and painting the many Shields for the festival. The two huge shields for the West Gate have also been completed by the 6th class pupils from the Gaelscoil and Presentation Primary facilitated by Maureen the organiser of the South Tipperary Art Group (STAG). The bunting workshop in the Co. Museum facilitated by STAG member Lesley was such a success that the festival now has over 1,000 ft. of bunting completed by all the enthusiastic sewing volunteers – many of them STAG members - well done to all the ladies involved. Elka, art/craft’s facilitator in the County Museum has many medieval hats made amd Julia ( Co. Museum) with Jamie and Sadhbh, ( Junior STAG) Niamh, Aran, Bobby, Frances, Dolores and Maureen ( Adult STAG)are completing the painting on the medieval tunics at the moment.

The first part of the festival, the Inn Trail, will kick off on Friday night 10th August during the Busking Weekend and anyone wishing to take part must register their interest with the County Museum as places are limited. Enquiries to: 052 6134552/34550
