Monday night December 10 promises to be a great night of music and dancing at the Coachman, Clonmel as friends and colleagues from the music and entertainment world gather to celebrate the life and times of two of the town’s most talented and popular musicians – Paddy Byrne and Karl Weiss.
It is hoped that there will be a large attendance of members of the public there as well – admission is free and all are welcome, particularly people who would have danced to the music of Mick Delahunty – whose famous orchestra Paddy and Karl were members of for many years.
Both of these musicians live in the town of Clonmel for many years now and have many friends and extended families living locally. Paddy as a trumpet player and Karl as a saxophonist are both widely known and respected in the music business both at a local and national level – they have performed with all kinds of musical ensembles and artists, bands and groups too numerous to mention.
They have played all types of music from orchestral to jazz and everything in between and have always impressed those whom they worked for and worked with – they are great people to know – talented, funny and sociable – but serious about their music – they are true professionals.
So come along on Monday 10 – meet and greet (starting at 8.30pm) – cheese and wine and hellos – stories and (tall) tales from the “good old days” from some of the people who lived through it, and meet Paddy and Karl – do not forget to bring your friends and make an evening out of it!
Music for dancing on the night will be supplied by a seven piece band – SHOWBAND KNIGHTS – whose programme will have something for everyone. COME DANCING.
