A board meeting of the Excel Centre in Tipperary Town was held on Monday after which a statement was issued which said members were striving to protect jobs at the heritage centre.
PRO June Moloney said members discussed a number of important issues concerning the running of the centre.
“We are all working hard to protect jobs and secure the future of the Excel Centre for the people of Tipperary” she said.
The PRO said the Excel was in a transition period. Board members discussed how to “make it a better place” and that members were doing the best “they possibly could”. There are twenty five people employed at the centre which houses cinema facilities, shop, cafe, exhibition space and it is also the venue for the sitting of the district court.
