Cashel gave the fashion capitals of the world a run for their money, last weekend, when glitz and glamour transformed neighbours and friends into supermodels for one night only, in the of the local primary school.
The Parent Association of St. John the Baptist Girls’ Primary School held a very successful Fashion Show in Brú Ború on Friday last, April 1.
A large number of local models featured on the ramp including a number of staff from St John the Baptist Girls and Boys School. The school choir with pupils from fifth and sixth class sang three songs to open the show. They all received an Easter Egg as a thank you from the Parents’ Association.
The evening began a with a cheese and wine reception at 7pm and the relazed atmosphere let everyone enjoy browsing the stands that were present. These included Eleanor Butler from Glitz and Bitz, Tic Toc Jewellers, Caroline English, Tanya O’Donoghue, KOKO and Caroline Gras, MAC makeup and Crafts from The Tipperary Showcase were on display. Headpieces from local designer Sandra Cambell were a big hit on the night.
Thanks aso to Cormac and O’Dwyers Pharmacy who sponsored one hundred free make-up vouchers on the night. To Josephine Devitt, Cashel Credit Union, CORAL Cleaners, Josephine Bulfin, Michelle at Cashel Flowers, Joe Joe Moloney, The Cutting Edge, Static, Sandra Hourigan and Sinead Forde a sincere thank you also for their support to the Parents’ Association.
Shops that participated in the fashion show were Golden Threads, Uptown Girl, O’Dwyer’s Fashions, the Kilkenny Shop, Winnie Looby, Lár na Páirce, Fashion Express, Cashel Woollen Store, Daverns, Koko, Geraldine Ryan, Siobhan Delaney and Noel Fahy Footwear. The Parent Association would like to thank them for their involvement and also for the donation of spot prizes.
Following a feast of fashion the audience enjoyed a champagne reception at the interval sponsored by Minogue Furniture. The second half continued with more great fashion and great music and compereing from Don Andrews.
Fr. Jimmy O’ Donnell, Chairperson of the Board ended the show, thanking all for supporting the school fundraiser.
