English singer-songwriter Paul Heaton is set to bring his music to Cahir this weekend.
Paul, who is most well known as a member of the Housemartins and The Beautiful South, is on a tour of smaller venues in Ireland and on Saturday evening will play to fans at Irwin’s Yard pub, in the town centre.
The singer plans to celebrate his 50th birthday with a bicycle tour of the UK and Ireland across a selection of pubs - cycling 2500 miles – 50 miles for each year he’s been on the planet.
Heaton’s mammoth journey will span 40 days and take in 33 shows. It kicked off in Manchester on May 15 before wrapping up in London on June 23.
The Irish gigs are a continuation of Heaton’s British tour ‘Pedals and Pumps’ where he promoted cycling and traditional British pubs on a trek of 720 miles.
