Clonmel celebrates medieval heritage

Clonmel was en fete on Sunday for the medieval festival in the town centre. Sarsfield Street was transported back centuries for exhibitions of basket weaving, wood turning and blacksmith operations.

Clonmel was en fete on Sunday for the medieval festival in the town centre. Sarsfield Street was transported back centuries for exhibitions of basket weaving, wood turning and blacksmith operations.

Big crowds turned out the event which was part of Festival Chluain Meala.

Other highlights of the weekend included a concert by local musical maestro Miceal O Suilleabhain in Old St Mary’s Church on Friday night and a a medieval banquet in Gordon Street carpark on Saturday evening.
