The Musical Society would like to acknowledge the enormous effort that Padraig Sheehan has made since the foundation of the Academy. As the driving force behind the Academy in its early years, as its Director / Producer in later years. His voluntary commitment to this project should be seen as an enormous commitment not only to the Musical Society but to the town and hinterland of Carrick, to enrich those who participate, our younger generation with the art of theatre performance and production. A lot has been made at the Olympics over the last couple of weeks about empowering our youth, with the tag line “Inspire a Generation”, they are absolutely right, our youth is our future, and in the Musical Society Arts Academy we have been doing this for many a year and hopefully we will continue . Many thanks to Padraig and enjoy what will hopefully be a short sabbatical.
It is panto time again. If you want to be involved we will be holding a launch night in the theatre coffee dock / bar on Thursday, August 30, at 8pm.
We would like to thank the people of the town and its surrounding areas for their generosity in supporting our recent flag day.
