Faces that were instantly recognisable in school uniforms only a short few weeks ago were with the aid of ‘Glad Raggs’ and ‘War Paint’ transformed into vaguely familiar ones which wouldn’t have been out of place in the pages of glitzy fashion magazines.

At 7pm, a little behind time, Liam’s convoy of busses ferried the 210 who attended the ball to Cahir House Hotel. After ‘tripping the light fantastic’ into the small hours the weary revellers adjourned to the the Big Yellow M in Wallers Lot until first light when the night came to an end.

The night was organised by Niall Anglim and Sinead Fitzgerald of the student council, the parents’ association represented by Mary Darmody, Emily White, Michelle O’Leary, Denise O’Donoghue and Bernie Lonergan and school management.
