The Bulmers Clonmel Comedy Festival is celebrating its 7th anniversary by expanding the festival to 5 days of classic comedy.

You can expect thrills, belly laughs, heavenly banter and exceptional value for money as the world’s top comedians ensure Clonmel is the funniest hotspot on the planet from November 27 to December 1.

The Bulmers Comedy Festival has grown since 2007 to become a major event on the comedy circuit in Ireland, regularly attracting big international names and introducing stars of the future to Ireland. The Examiner last year said “the wonderful Clonmel Comedy Festival is becoming the pick of Irish comedy Festivals”.

As always the festival will bring the cream of Irish comedy and they are delighted to announce the Tommy Tiernan and Davis O’Doherty will make very rare appearances at an Irish Festival. Tommy Tiernan brings his show to the festival on Thursday, November 28 and David O’Doherty closes the festival on Sunday, December 1.

The festival brings the top stars from Edinbrugh and upcoming stars and this year we have the top UK acts Sean Walsh and Shappi Khorsandi and we have the upcoming star Marcel Lacont to name a few.

Colm O’Regan opens the festival on Wednesday, November 2 in the new Bakers Bar venue. Colm brings his new show “Ireland’s Got More Mammies” to coincide with the launch of his new book “That’s More of it Now – the 2nd Book of Irish Mammies”. Colm’s brilliant show brings the world of the Irish Mammy to life in a unique and dotey way. Make sure you bring along your own Irish Mammy.

The second solo show will be the brilliant The Nualas on Saturday, November 30. Ireland’s top all-female comedy singing sensations The Nualas new show is the fabulous ‘The Nualas: One Night of Dignity’. In a world where pop stars think nothing of singing in their underwear, The Nualas buck the trend by sporting proper yet unbelievably glamorous, and shiny, stage attire. Expect original self-penned numbers, scintillating vocal harmony, ambitious choreography and a night packed solid with craic, laughter, tears, and chat (not necessarily in that order).

“We are now firmly established as one of the top comedy festivals in Ireland. We are getting a reputation at the Edinburgh Fringe for breaking new comedy talent in Ireland so this has enabled me to bring top upcoming and established comedians. This is looking like our biggest and best year yet” said Fergal O’Keeffe, Festival Director.

“We plan to entertain people with some of the most magical, hysterical and hilarious comedians on the planet. There’s a whole range of styles to suit every taste”.

Fiona Creedan, for Bulmers says - “Bulmers is delighted to be on board as title sponsor for the Bulmers Pear Clonmel Comedy Festival. This festival is a great fit for us, not least as it’s showcasing some of the best of world-class comedic talent from home and abroad, yet also because it’s in our home town. We are proud to be to be associated with this international festival based here in Clonmel, and we look forward to some thrilling nights of comedy this November.”
