Folk singing contest at Carrick-on-Suir festival

Folk singers will have a chance to win the Eoghan Power Memorial Trophy at the Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival in Carrick-on-Suir over the June Bank Holiday Weekend.

Folk singers will have a chance to win the Eoghan Power Memorial Trophy at the Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival in Carrick-on-Suir over the June Bank Holiday Weekend.

The Eoghan Power Memorial Singing Competition will take place in Figgerty’s Pub, New Street on Friday June 1 at 9pm.

This is always a great night and there is always great local talent showcased..

Each competition entrant will sing one folk song or ballad of their choice. The event is free to the public to come and watch and the fee for participating singers is €10.

An application form can be downloaded from the Festival website.

Throughout the festival there will also be a live music pub trail and sessions in pubs around the town.
