South Tipperary Arts Service is hosting a Poetry Evening and Networking Event with Paddy Horan to celebrate All-Ireland Poetry Day at the County Museum in Clonmel on Thursday, 4th October at 7pm.

A wine reception will be followed with a reading by guest poet Paddy Moran and an open-mic session of local poetry. Poets wishing to read their work can register their interest on the night and will be able to read a maximum of two poems, depending on numbers present.

Paddy Moran was born in Templetuohy, where he still lives. He works as a teacher. His poetry is concerned with how the rural landscape of Ireland is changing and how that creates a longing for the past and the familiarity it held. His poems have appeared in a variety of periodicals and he has published two collections, The Stubble Fields, in 2001, and Green, in 2008.

Paddy has won several poetry prizes including the Gerard Manley Hopkins Poetry Prize and was shortlisted for the Hennessy/Sunday Tribune poetry award in 1990.
