On Saturday night a cheque for the sum of €5400 was presented to Tipp Mid West Community Radio in O’Neill’s pub, Tipperary town.

The money was raised at a fun cycle that took place in September where eager cyclists set off from the Market Yard in Tipperary town as early as 9am to cycle all the way to Tramore, Co. Waterford. Among the many cyclists taking part in the trek were Jim Keane, Joan Burke and Tom Harnett who represented Tipp Mid West Radio.

The cheque was presented to Denis Hartnett, treasurer of the board of management at Tipp Mid West Radio and presenter Jim Keane and his wife Geraldine who organised the cycle by Ted Loughman and Martin O’Keeffe.

Chairman Michael Maguire, Anne Power, station manager, and Lina Ryan, sports presenter, whose live coverage made a huge difference
in the en-route support for the cyclists on their journey were also present.

“€5400 is much appreciated by the radio and will be put to good use when a major refurbishment programme will hopefully begin in the new year,” said Anne Power.
