The Cork internationally acclaimed soprano Cara O’Sullivan is the special guest artist in a concert in aid of “Autism” in Kilshane House, Bansha on Sunday, May 13.
Cara has toured the world performing in all major theatres - Royal Albert Hall, Royal Opera House, Sydney Opera House, to name but these three, and when she made her debut as Queen of the Night at the Cincinnati Festival Opera, the press enthused - “Cara O’Sullivan dominated her scenes with a voice that practically pulls you from your seat” . She recently was guest soloist with Regina Nathan and Celine Byrne for the RTE Symphony Orchestra concert tour of Ireland. She is a regular performer in Thomond Park when Munster Rugby are at home, Sunday last her latest appearance.
She represented Ireland in “The Cardiff Singer of the World” in 1993.
Cara will perform many old favourites including “Villa”; “We’ll Gather Lilies”; “O My Beloved Father” etc
Also performing in the concert are new Cashel singing sensation Thomas Grogan; flautist Cormac O’Flaherty; Cahir soprano Jenny Davis. A recent winner of two prestigious competitions (incl best female voice) at the Dublin Feis Ceoil, and Bass/Baritone Derek Ryan just returned from a hugely successful tour of the USA. A feature of the concert will be when Cara and Derek join together to entertain the audience and should not be missed.
