Folk music gig in aid of Clancy Festival song contest

Folk band “In The Willows”. singer/songwriter Avi McGourty and local singer Pete McGowan will perform a concert on Saturday, April 5 in aid of the Clancy Brothers Songwriting Contest.

The concert takes place in the atmospheric setting of the Nuns’ Chapel at Carrick-on-Suir’s Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre.

The concert, which starts at 8pm, is in support of the inaugural Clancy Brothers Songwriting Competition, the winner of which will be announced at the Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival over the June Bank Holiday Weekend.

Six-piece alternative folk band, “In the Willows”, have just released their new single, “Sirens”, and a new album will be released soon. The Waterford based band has been wowing crowds with their brand of alternative folk with exquisite, atmospheric harmonies and natural melodic structures.
