The Junior Choir participated in the Regional Final of the All Island School Choir Competition in the Cork School of Music last Friday night, October 17.

Selected in the twenty choirs (from an original entry of eighty) to contest the four regional finals, Cashel were in against senior choirs from Carlow, Kilkenny and two from Cork. They acquitted themselves very well but will have to wait until next year to try for a coveted final place, which this time round went to Regina Mundi College, from Douglas, Cork. The event was recorded by RTE and will be shown on Sunday, November 9.

At the recent qualifying rounds for the Munster Final held in Cunnigar Pitch and Putt Club in Dungarvan three of our four teams made it through. Team 1 (Sean O’Neill, Jaymes O’Sullivan and James O’Neill) narrowly missed out on an All-Ireland qualifying spot. The other two teams representing C.C.S. were Luke White, Padraic Palmer and Adam Skeffington; Tommy Fitzgerald, Paul Shortt and Shane Dwan. The best individual scores on the day were achieved by Sean O’Neill and Tommy Fitzgerald.
