The photo exhibition `Through the Lens’ which closed last Saturday 12th. January was a great success with big visitor numbers for the 3 weeks of the show. The exhibitors came mainly from Tipperary with a few from further afield such as Hungary, Nepal, New Zealand and France! A cosmopolitan bunch of photographers indeed exhibiting superb prints some of which sold!
A first ever exhibition by artists from Cluain Training Centre, Nelson St,., Clonmel called `Springtime of Hope’ will be launched by His Worship the Mayor, Cllr. Billy Shoer, in the Gallery of the South Tipperary Arts Centre, on this coming Thursday 17th. January at 6 p.m.. All are welcome.The exhibition will run until Thursday February 14th, Open Arts Centre Hours, Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 12 to 4.p.m.Admission free.
Art/Craft classes for children will recommence from next week for Wednesday and Saturday classes and on February. 1st for Friday class.
Adult Art class with Ann Brennan Artist resumes on Thursday 24th.

Names are also being taken for Crochet and Sewing/alteration classes which will recommence in February.
The Painting and Craft Gathering Get -Together will resume on this Wednesday 16th. in the Studio from 10. 30 a.m. Fee €3 each. PLEASE NOTE:There will be no Tutor at these sessions.
On Friday 25th .January the Arts Centre will host a fundraising gig for the centre with ‘Woebegone’ musicians from South Tipp strutting their eclectic music. Doors open at 8. 15.p.m for a Pre Gig by `Von Trapp’ Clonmel.
The Heritage Mural ‘ The Suir – From Source to Sea’ is at present being painted by teenagers in the Arts Centre every Monday night from 7 to 8 pm. Contact 0868096823 for details
