The crowd went wild when Charlie burst into an amazing performance of a Cha-cha performed to the music ‘Love never felt so Good’.

Judge Deirdre Buckley said that Conrad and Breda showed musicality, rhythm and style that very few could achieve. The duo were crowned winners and received rapturous applause from all the dancers and the crowd as they Cha-cha-cha’d their winning routine once more.

The eleven couples taking part were Annette Hahessey and Neil Dennehy; Michelle Higgins and Michael Mockler; Paula O’Rahilly and Austin Phelan; Monica Conway and Bill Kennedy; Shirley and Keith Conway; Alma Maher and John Cummins; Liz Newport and Kevin Murphy; Gemma Maguire and Oliver McGee; Yvonne Browne and Eamonn Freir; Christina Millea and Joe Strappe; and Breda O’Donovan and Conrad Burke.

Professional dance partnership Sean Smullen and Aimee Leek delivered an awesome display of three dances during the interval. James Devine demonstrated that he is a multi-talented leader in percussive dance. The crowd were further wowed by the enchanting singing of Cherry Hally and Sinead O’Donovan. This was followed by a contemporary dance by the On Your Toes dance academy, choreographed by Gillian Fitzgerald and Majella Forte.

The event raised funds for the Clerihan Community Park and Fr. Ailbe O’Bric, chairperson of Clerihan Community Council

thanked the committee for all their work, and especially Seamus Lahart who helped to pull it all together.

Thanks were also extended to John, Liz and the staff of Hotel Minella who looked after everyone so well; and all those companies that very generously sponsored adverts and dances and donated prizes.
