World Day of Prayer – Old St Mary’s Church March 1st Over 3 million people in Ireland and worldwide will take part in the annual World Day of Prayer ecumenical service on Friday March 1st. This years’ service has been prepared by Christian women in France. The Clonmel service will take place in Old St Mary’s Church at 8.00pm. All parishes in the Clonmel area are participating: Old St Mary’s, Ss Peter and Paul’s, St Oliver’s, St Mary’s Irishtown, Powerstown/ Lisronagh and Kilsheelan/Kilcash. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Welcome: We welcome into the Christian Faith Community of St. Mary’s: Brooklyn Gordon McMahon, Biaconi Drive, Jayden Walsh, Biaconi Drive, Sadhbh Lucy McCarthy, Connolly Park, who were christened last weekend. Congratulations to parents, Marcus & Pamela, Gavin & Jamie, John & Rosemary, Godparents, Rosa & Tara, Errol & Melissa, Richard & Deidre, grandparents and extended family.

Town celebration of St. Patrick’s Well / Holy Year Cross, Old Bridge: Suggestions made at the Pastoral Area meeting to celebrate the Year of Faith was a town Mass celebration at St. Patrick’s Well and The Annual Mass at the Holy Year Cross, as an extended town celebration was discussed.

Pastoral Council: At our Pastoral Council meeting last Monday night, the four committees - Liturgy, Community life, Social Concern, Faith & Evangelization- reported their progress. If anyone in the Parish would like to become involved with any of the committees, contact Parish office or any member of the Pastoral Council.

Pat Hayes and Fr. Billy Meehan.

Communications Group: There is also a communications committee, Denis Fahey, John Healy, Patricia O’Meara, Eleanor Mulwahr, and Fr. Billy Meehan (Meta Cunningham & Fran Dignam who maintain the Website, Web cam, etc). At present developments are in progress whereby, the sick and housebound will be able to follow Mass from St. Mary’s on their own television set each day. Heretofore to avail of this service a computer would have been necessary. More about this development later. In the meantime, if any of the sick or housebound would like to avail of this service, contact Denis Fahey, John Healy or Parish Office. A member of the team will call to explain the system.

Pioneers: A Presentation of Pioneer Pins is being organised for Confirmation Classes on 13th March. If you would like to join the Pioneers or if you think you are entitled to a Silver pin (25years) or Gold pin (50 years)
