2014 marks 100 years since the death of the high king of Ireland, Brian Boru, and Cashel’s Culture Night this year will begin the celebrations early with a Brian Boru Theme night on Friday, September 29, at the Town Library.
Children will be encouraged to come to the event in fancy dress and there will be hands-on shield making for your little warriors.
The evening events, which run from 6pm to 8.30pm, will feature music from a number of youth groups, St John The Baptist Girls choir, St Patrick’s Brass Band, as well as poetry reading, crafts, an art exhibition and out door art creations. And it is all free!
This is the eighth year that Culture Night has been celebrated in Ireland. It is coordinated by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
