Carrick-on-Suir’s Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival has been shortlisted for an Association of Irish Festival Events award.

Last Monday, the Festival Committee was notified it was one of five festivals shortlisted for the AOIFE Carlton Best of Festival and Event Marketing Awards in the ‘Best Festival/Event Photograph’ category.

The Clancy Festival’s photographer this year was Patrick Lyons.

Eight of his photographs from the 2014 Festival were submitted under this awards category.

“As the official photographer for the Festival this year I would like to thank the Clancy Festival committee, Linda Fahy and Ross Clery in particular for the opportunity to get some great images in what is the largest event annually in Carrick-on-Suir,” said Patrick. “Highlights from the festival for me were the Tribute to the Clancy Brothers concert in the Strand Theatre, the urban poc fada on the streets of Carrick and the legendary Bagatelle performing outdoors on stage at the River Festival in Sean Healy park on the final day,” he added..

The Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival Committee said it was delighted to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards.

Clancy Festival representatives Linda Fahy and Pete MacGowan will attend the AOIFE conference in Ballinasloe next weekend.
