It takes a special kind of rider to mount a vintage bike and then motor around the inner wall of what is little more than a big wooden barrel and it is rare to see this feat performed here in Ireland.
However, this Easter weekend there will be the chance to see Ken Fox and his Wall of Death perform these stunts at the Tipperary Vintage and Custom Rally which is held every year on Tipperary Racecourse.
April 4 and 5 will see Ken and his troupe kick off their 2015 season in Ireland with an incredible display on vintage Indian Scouts motorcycles. They will not only be showing off their riding abilities but also their acrobatic skills as they hurtle around the wall defying gravity. The attraction is popular throughout Europe and Tipperary Rally are delighted that Ken has chosen this rally to start his 2015 campaign.
Once again the Tipperary Vintage and Classic Rally will be held over the Easter weekend on Tipperary Racecourse at Limerick Junction. Besides the usual fascinating display of vintage and classic vehicles from farm and road, Gerry Humphries will be performing his stunning aerobatics while the coastguard will be bringing along a rescue helicopter, conditions permitting.
There will be many other activities including a dog show and husky sledge team display as well as stalls to appeal to all ages, making it a great day out for the whole family. A charity bike run and opening performance of the Wall of Dearth will be held on the afternoon of Saturday 4.
The rally is run exclusively as a charity event and has raised over €112,000 during the last few years, mainly for South Tipperary Hospice, which will once again be the main beneficiary in 2015.
