Clonmel Junction Festival are delighted to announce the return of Nicole and Martin with their beautiful wooden-framed white canvas tent and brightly painted red caravans and trucks.
The White Tent will be erected in Mick Delahunty Square, transforming the car park into a magical tented park for the week of the festival, which runs from July 6-15th. The project has been supported by Clonmel Borough Council, who have facilitated the use of the car park, and is being sponsored by Merck, Sharp and Dohme (MSD).
Nicole and Martin are a Swiss acrobatic and theatre couple who along with their 5 year-old son, who tours with the company, will be performing three of Grimm’s Fairy tales over three nights of the festival. They will perform the Irish premiere of their new show The Girl with No Hands and also performing the very popular The Fisherman and His Wife and The Musicians of Bremen.
The shows, which are each 70 minutes long, are a magical mixture of storytelling, circus, theatre and music as these multi-talented performers enact the stories like you have never seen before. Nicole and Martin will begin a month-long tour of Ireland with their visit to Clonmel.
The White Tent will also be the venue for the visit of English company The Wrong Crowd who will be performing another fairytale, this time from Norway. Their show, The Girl with the Iron Claw is a powerful tale of a young wilful princess who, far from needing a woodcutter to save her, heads off into the woods and has the courage to be her own hero and in the end save the handsome princess from the wicked ogress.
MSD (Ireland) Ballydine is delighted to be able to sponsor the Clonmel Junction Festival again this year.
