There was a great atmosphere in the Excel last Thursday night for the much anticipated Excel fashion show facilitated by Celia Holman Lee modelling agency and organised by the Friends and Volunteers of the Excel centre.

Guests were treated to a cheese and wine reception and had time to browse the many stalls in the foyer before attending the main event.

The fashion show commenced with local children strutting their stuff for Julie’s Childrenswear. The young models are always a hit with the audience showing adorable outfits for all occasions, followed by Celia Holman Lee’s models, Abbey CBS Transition Year male models and senior model Kieran Moloney.

“I’m really pleased with tonight’s event and I wish to sincerely thank the Tipperary town Credit Union, our main sponsors for the night, as well as the Tipperary Co-Op who kindly donated all the excellent cheese for the reception,” said Chairperson of the Excel Kerry Ryan. “The Friends and Volunteers of the Excel organised this event and a special thanks to Carmel Donovan, Maread Kennedy and Michael O’Donoghue.”

The Best Dressed Lady was awarded to Catriona Cross who won a lovely pendant sponsored by Diamond Light jewellers.

The Excel Volunteers would like to thank Dee Morrissey for decorating the stage and foyers, Eamon Long of Rathellen House for presentation of cheese & wine reception, Fitzpatrick Printers for their beautiful posters, tickets and brochures, Helen Morrissey for her help with the Community Employment scheme on an ongoing basis, the hardworking staff of the Excel for their encouragement and help, the stallholders for displaying beautiful products, those who sponsored the raffle prizes and to ‘The Nationalist’ Newspaper and Tipp Mid West Radio for their constant media support.
