Cashel Choral and Dramatic Society are currently rehearsing Bernard Farrell’s hilarious comedy ‘Bookworms.’
It will be staged in Bru Boru from Thursday November 28, to Sunday December 1.
The play was first seen in the Abbey Theatre in 2010 and the Cashel Society is the second drama group to produce it outside of the capital.
The play is set in post Celtic tiger suburbia, and revolves around Ann, and her husband Larry, a successful builder in the boom times but now down on his luck. It is Ann’s turn to host the book club, although many members make their excuses not to attend, Robert the bank manager and his wife Jennifer arrive, as does wealthy widow Dorothy. Larry and Ann’s daughter Aisling joins in via Skype from Australia, and there is Larry’s mysterious brother Vincent who lives upstairs.
