The cast of Oliver! are back in residence in the White Memorial Theatre this week, having been rehearsing in St. Mary’s Parochial Hall for the past two weeks while the High School/Presentation Musical was staged in the theatre and the set for Oliver! was being built. The society are grateful to George Hogg and the management of St. Mary’s Parochial Hall for allowing them the use of their premises and thanks also to Gillian and Majella at On Your Toes for also allowing rehearsals to take place in their studio.
Rehearsals are now intensifying as the society enters the final week before opening night. The set is being finished by set designer Diarmuid Vaughan and his team and the final props are being made or gathered by Marie Crowe and her props team and director Maureen Walsh. Musical Director Danny Carroll, together with the other members of the production team, are putting the finishing touches to what promises to be another sparking production from St. Mary’s.
Booking for Oliver! opened on Tuesday last and has been very brisk so far. Patrons are advised to book their seats without delay to avoid disappointment.
The show runs from Friday, 18th to Saturday, 26th November at the White Memorial Theatre and booking is at Marian’s, O’Connell Street, Clonmel, tel. (052)- 6123813.
