Children became active participants as they were introduced to the world of brass, rhythm games, singing and percussion with an emphasis on fun and music making. The programme has been developed as part of the National Concert Hall Learn and Explore series.

Reaction from the pupils and teachers was very positive - parents describing their children as full of animation and chat about their experience. ‘They experienced the joy and fun of music listening, responding and the atmosphere created’ through hearing such pieces as The Carnival of the Animals, The Simpsons, The Pink Panther. Words from students included ‘relaxing’, ‘funny’, ‘joyful’, ‘interesting’, ‘educational’, ‘musical’, ‘my first live performance’. A teacher commented ‘we had a dramatic, historic, silent, cacophonous, funny, sad, proud experience’.
