This brilliant story of emigration, love, rural farm life, Americans on vacation, drink and many other goings-on - including cows calving - sees Tom Fitzgerald direct and play the role of Eddie Maher, who returns on holiday with his American wife Julia, played by Patricia Harte.

Young Curly Maher is adamant he is going to America with the pair when they go back. Des Cunningham plays Curly and Amanda Hickey plays Eileen, his young friend he goes gallivanting with every Sunday night according to his father Tom Maher, played by Ger Meagher.

In the middle of it all is Tom’s wife Mary Kate (played by Amanda Kirwan), trying, often in vain to keep the peace.

Rehearsals are in full swing and the Guild is hoping for the public’s usual excellent support.
