Glen of Aherlow make top five list of holiday destinations in the country

Having already made it to the top twenty five in the Irish Times places to holiday in Ireland list the Glen of Aherlow made it to the top five destinations and are in with a shot to winthe overall prize which will be announed on Monday.

“We are up against the big hitters but we are in with a chance” insisted Frank Kelly whose submission to the Irish Times made a huge impact ont he judges.

A frequent visitor to the Glen Frank said the Glen of Aherlow was a special place and making the top five was a wonderful tribute to the people in the community who worked so hard to promote and develop their tourism appeal.

Helen Morrissey, Aherlow Failte said it was very exciting to be contenters for the number one spot .

Making the list,she said, was an acknowledgement of the hard work put in by the community to build a tourism product .

“This is a recognition that there is a special tourism produce on offer in the Glen and it will have very positive long term benefits for the whole area,” said Helen.
