Beautifully designed with evocative images of the war scene in the county, Dennehy has written an engaging history.

This book tells the story of the many traumas the war inflicted on the people of Tipperary, the stories of thousands of injured and disabled soldiers that were based in Tipperary recovering, their stories at the front and how difficult it was to reintegrate themselves into everyday life despite the best efforts of the civilians.

John Dennehy is a journalist from Clonmel and the son of Frank and Ita Dennehy. He gained his PhD in history at University College Cork and has contributed to several publications on the subject of Tipperary during the First World War.
